Why We Charge $9 and Nothing Else

Most VA platforms make money every time you hire. We don't. Here's why we built it differently — and what that means for you.
When founders first see Delegatoo's pricing, they usually ask the same question: "What's the catch?"
There isn't one. But we get why you're skeptical. The VA industry has trained people to expect markups, commissions, and fees buried in fine print. So let's just be upfront about how this works.
The traditional model — and why it's broken
Most VA platforms sit between you and the assistant, every single time. They charge hiring fees (sometimes 15–25% of first-year salary). They take a cut of every hour worked. They build their revenue model on the assumption that you'll need them forever as a middleman.
That's not a marketplace. That's a tollbooth.
Agencies charge even more — often marking up VA rates by 2–3x because they handle "management." For a lot of founders, that means paying $30–40/hr for someone whose fair market rate is $10–15/hr.
The real cost of a "managed" VA isn't the rate on the invoice. It's the markup buried between what you pay and what the assistant actually earns.
What $9/month actually buys you
Your subscription gives you access to Delegatoo's full VA directory, unlimited job postings, and direct messaging with every assistant on the platform. That's it. No tier above it. No premium unlock. No per-hire fee when you find someone great.
When you hire a VA, you pay them directly. We're not in the room. We don't take a percentage. We don't require you to route payments through us.
How we make money without commissions
We make money from subscriptions — from businesses who find value in the directory. If we build a great platform with great VAs, people stay subscribed. That's the whole model. Our incentive is to make the directory as useful as possible, not to maximize per-transaction revenue.
Is this sustainable?
Yes — because we're not trying to be an enterprise staffing firm. Delegatoo is built for founders and small teams who need real support without corporate-level overhead. Keeping the platform lean and the price honest is the point, not a concession.
If you've been burned by platforms that charged you to connect, charged you to hire, and then charged you every month after — this is built as the alternative to that.
